We live (at work) by 4 core values, Respect, Integrity, Accountability and Servanthood. Our org chart has employees who interact directly with customers at the top and the CEO at the bottom. Managers have a quarterly internal customer contact requirement to discover systems that aren't working, roadblocks, anything else that can help us better support front line employees. We reward performance and recognize/appreciate unexpected contributions. As a result, morale is high and we get 1000s of customer compliments annually. We talk a lot about creating WOW! moments for customers AND each other, and we have many ways to recognize employees who create them.
