Founded in 1984 in Cambridge, Massachusetts, ERG is a nationally recognized multidisciplinary environmental and engineering consulting firm offering a broad range of professional services. We serve a spectrum of private and public clients, including federal agencies, state governments, corporations, and universities and offer capabilities in seven core service lines: communications services, environmental services, information technology, occupational safety and health, economic research and analysis, facility planning and engineering, and energy services. ERG operates offices in Boston and Lexington, as well as in nine additional areas throughout the United States. Our corporate headquarters in Lexington and the Boston office are home to our occupational health and safety, economics, conference services, and information technology groups, as well as many of our communications specialists. Our clients include US EPA, US Dept of Health and Human Services, FDA, US Navy, DOL, and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, among others.

ERG's Boston office has been recognized as a Best Workplace for Commuters, meeting National Standard of Excellence in commuter benefits. ERG offers commuter benefits with a transit subsidy, pre-tax deductions, telework options, and flexible schedules. ERG sent out its 4th annual commuting survey in June. This is one component to determine our corporate "carbon footprint." One of ERG’s internal initiatives is to save paper and energy (the Paper Reduction Campaign is monitored by office Paper Champions). Unofficially, both the Boston and Lexington officies have reduced paper use around 25% between 2009 and 2010. ERG staff in Lexington have a weekly co-ed street hockey game, weather permitting! Weekly volleyball games near our picnic area were introduced recently. The Lexington office has a workout room with weights and machines, plus two fully equipped shower rooms and the lunch room has a popcorn machine. We recognize that ERG's flexible work hours give employees the opportunity to perform community service work, pursue interests and hobbies and have more time with their families.
