CalOptima is an integrated health care system that administers health insurance programs for Orange County children, low income families, and persons with disabilities. As one of the largest Medi-Cal managed care plans in California, CalOptima is proud of its status as a model public health plan. In our most recent employee opinion survey, employees emphasized the commitment to our mission, the employee-focused culture, and our overall commitment to excellence as the key reasons why CalOptima is such a great place to work.
CalOptima has extremely low administrative costs. We spend nearly 96% of our revenue on medical care. This is a reflection of our dedication to member service combined with a focus on continuous improvement. CalOptima remains closely connected to the health care needs of Orange County's residents. In 2007, we began our quarterly Community Alliance Forums whereby community-based organizations have the opportunity to share information, network, and learn about key health care issues that affect Orange County residents. CalOptima continues to earn outstanding employee satisfaction scores on its employee opinion surveys. Our most recent survey completed in February, 2011, resulted in a 96.4% satisfaction score in response to the statement, “All things considered, this is a good place to work.” We were proud to be recently announced by Modern Healthcare as a 2010 Best Places to Work.
