About Rankin Christian Center
Rankin Christian Center is a nonprofit social service agency. Our building houses a Head Start classroom, the Rankin Family Care Connection site through Children's Hospital, and a Food Bank connected with the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank. Our programs include: Independent Supports Coordination which serves individuals with intellectual disabilities; Community Service Program that works with delinquent middle school and high school children that are referred by local magistrates; a Senior Program called 'Seniors on the Move'; and a Youth Services Program that runs an After School Program for about 90 registered children basically in the Woodland Hills School District and an Evening and Saturday Program attracting teens in the Community.
The Youth Services Program also sponsors a Summer Day Camp. Leaders of Tomorrow is a high school age group that encourages education beyond high school. Once a year the A.N. Minney Scholarship Banquet awards money to high school seniors going to college as well as a small book stipend to students in college. This scholarship program is made possible by corporate sponsors and individual donations. RCC is also proud of its long-standing connection with United Way: Agency code is 92.
