About Michigan First Credit Union
Michigan First, originally founded as the Detroit Teachers Credit Union in 1926, is a full service, high-tech financial institution that has been dedicated to serving its members, employees (who we refer to as team members) and the community for more than 80 years. Our mission is to be the only financial institution the members will need throughout their lives, and our leadership is committed to continually expanding and innovating service offerings to meet the ever-changing needs of our current and future membership. Michigan First is dedicated to financial literacy for all ages through the student branches in schools, youth accounts, free seminars and various organizations and charities it supports.
We continue to be financially strong and stable with more than $580 million in assets and approximately 80,000 members and businesses, and plans to continue to grow throughout the metropolitan Detroit area. We plan to continue to hire more skilled team members in 2011.
