Founded in 1979, Progress Industries (P.I.) is a nonprofit organization that assists people with physical and intellectual disabilities to live and work as independently as possible within their communities. This is accomplished through training and support in residential, vocational and day habilitation programs. Residential services are provided in community-based settings in Polk and Jasper Counties. P.I.'s vocational services include pre-vocational training and supported employment programs. Day Habilitation services offer therapeutic and instructional activities to develop maintain or increase skill development in life functioning areas.
Progress Industries has a staff of 232 who provide services for nearly 300 people with special needs on an annual basis. The age of persons served ranges between 10 and 80.
