HCI Care Services (formerly Hospice of Central Iowa) and Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa (VNS of Iowa) are non-profit organizations who have formed a community partnership and share a common mission: promoting dignity, independence and quality of life for all through education, compassion and effective community-based care. HCI Care Services brings comfort and supportive care to individuals and their families as they face serious illnesses. The organization's hospice and private care services support individuals and their families in the places they call home.
Hospice services is offered in 41 counties and in the Des Moines-based Kavanagh Houses, Greater Regional Hospice Home in Creston and the Hospice With Heart House in Glenwood. Grief support is offered through both HCI Hospice Care Services and Amanda the Panda. Visiting Nurse Services of Iowa provides a wide scope of medical and supportive services to meet the health and social service needs of the community, from young mothers to the elderly. VNS of Iowa acts as a supportive network and advocate for low-income families, immigrants and others who need connection to community resources, vital health care services and assistance.
