Menninger assesses & treats people with complex psychiatric disorders that may include addiction, pain or medical conditions. Treatment focuses on each patient’s needs for physical, emotional interpersonal, and spiritual health. Patient families participate in therapy & receive coaching to support their family member. Outpatient treatment has expanded to include ECT; child & adult psychiatry; Pathfinder, that helps adults integrate into the community & live independently; psychiatry at a TX Children’s Pediatric Associates’ clinic; & counseling at Windsor Village United Methodist Church.
Annual community luncheon draws 600+ Houstonians who learn about mental health. 300 adults receive free social & vocational support at Menninger’s Gathering Place clubhouse. Affiliated with Baylor College of Medicine, Menninger is a teaching & research hospital with nearly 300 trainees annually & numerous continuing education programs for clinicians. Our researchers collaborate on neuroscience & treatment outcomes studies with BCM & others. Our mission: be a world leader in advancement of mental health treatment through research & education.
