We manage five federally funded research and development centers, to assist the U.S. government with scientific research and analysis, development and acquisition, and systems engineering and integration: • National Security Engineering Center - Sponsored by the Department of Defense • Center for Advanced Aviation System Development - Sponsored by the Federal Aviation Administration • Center for Enterprise Modernization – Sponsored by the Internal Revenue Service and co-sponsored by the Department of Veterans Affairs • Homeland Security Systems Engineering and Development Institute - Sponsored by the Department of Homeland Security • Judiciary Engineering and Modernization Center - Sponsored by the U.S. Courts We also have an independent research and development program that explores new technologies to solve our sponsors' problems in the near term and in the future.
