The Institute for Health and Recovery (IHR) is a state?wide non?profit organization. IHR provides counseling to individuals, youth and families struggling with addiction and mental health issues, many of whom have experienced violence. IHR provides trauma?informed, family-centered: • Outpatient behavioral health treatment in our clinics and client homes, • Services for youth & young adults • Access to residential substance use treatment • HIV prevention & early intervention in schools and communities • Behavioral health treatment and access to recovery services for those involved with criminal justice.
We also provide training, consultation and technical assistance to state, local and national organizations to improve integration of best practices and policies into programs for families, using lessons learned from our work to enhance integrated service delivery. We train on integrating these and other topics into existing treatment services: a trauma-informed approach, family-centered care, parenting and child development; tobacco education; Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders, and holistic approaches to recovery and wellness.
