About Samuel Shapiro and Company, Inc.

Samuel Shapiro and Co., Inc. serves the international trade community. In addition to Customs brokerage and freight forwarding services, the company offers a full suite of logistics products such as P.O. management, cargo insurance, Customs bonds, compliance consulting, and domestic forwarding. Samuel Shapiro & Co., Inc. was founded in Baltimore in 1915 by Samuel Shapiro, a 20-year-old enterprising businessman. He believed strongly in honor, loyalty, and had a strong commitment to excellence with respect to his business relationships. Sigmund Shapiro succeeded his father as president of the Company; he was instrumental in the company's growth and very much an advocate for the industry and customers about regulatory issues.

Sig, currently serves as Chairman. With Samuel's granddaughter (and Sig's daughter) Margie Shapiro now leading the company, Shapiro is in its third generation of family ownership and management. The world has changed considerably since the company's founding 96 years ago, but the values Sam instilled have not. Samuel Shapiro & Co., Inc. is committed to its customers, the highest quality of service, its employees, family values, and our Baltimore community.
