We are a community bank serving the business and individual banking needs of customers on the North Shore of Massachusetts including Newburyport, Amesbury, Salisbury, West Newbury, Newbury, Rowley, Byfield, Ipswich and Rowley.

In business since 1820, we are widely recognized as the oldest mutual bank in Massachusetts and one of the oldest and most stable mutual banks in the country. We have had only 16 presidents in our bank history, all of whom have been hired from within the organization. In addition to our 6 full-service offices, we also have a Residential Lending Center and a Commercial Lending center as well as operate student-run educational school banks in 2 local high schools with a third to open in January 2012.
